The Story Behind ZizzleUp

Why a retired plumber learned to code — and what he built along the way.

In everyday life, there are many situations that require uploading images: utility bills, checks, monthly statements, proof documents. These images all contain private information.

In most cases, the photos on your phone or computer are too large, and you hit upload limits. While searching for a quick and convenient image compression tool, you’ll find countless websites that can do the job. But before uploading those privacy-sensitive images — you can’t help but wonder: will these websites capture the information in my pictures?

For me, this worry haunted me for a long time. Every time I needed to compress an image, I had to open Photoshop or other heavy software to process it locally. It was incredibly inconvenient.

So I decided to solve this problem myself. With no formal computer science background — just a retired plumber who picked up coding as a hobby — I started learning JavaScript and web development. After months of trial and error, I built ZizzleUp.

ZizzleUp processes all image compression, format conversion, and other operations entirely within your browser using JavaScript. Your images never leave your browser — they are never uploaded to any server for processing. This is true local processing. Your images are safe. Your private information is safe. ZizzleUp’s working mechanism lets you handle images and PDF files on this website with complete peace of mind.

I also write about image processing, browser performance optimization, and privacy-preserving web technologies — the same areas where I applied my coding skills to build ZizzleUp. Every article on this blog relates back to the core problem I set out to solve: helping people work with images safely, efficiently, and privately.

Why This Site Is Different

Built by one person who actually uses it, for people who actually need it.

🔒

No Uploads. Period.

Every image stays on your device. Nothing is transmitted to any server. This isn’t a marketing claim — it’s how the code actually works.

👤

Built by a Real Person

No corporation, no startup team, no investors. One person who had a problem, learned to code, and built the solution from scratch.

💡

Driven by Real Experience

Every feature on this site exists because I needed it myself. If something doesn’t work the way you expect, it’s probably because I haven’t encountered that use case yet — let me know.
